Helping a 20yr old mechanic shop on the verge of closure take on a new and vibrant life.

Appalachian Auto Care is a unique shop. Locals come in every morning just to grab a seat, fill up a cup of coffee and chat. Sadly, Appalachian Auto Care was in a bit of a predicament. Under brand new ownership, the old shop was having a rough time, seeing diminishing numbers and a lack of new and younger clients. The new owner reached out to us and asked for help, and we produced a full rebrand that was not only welcomed by the everyday customers but also appealing to newcomers, bringing in a carload of new service. We also helped them expand into the Off-Road industry, branching off into the sub-brand “AAC Off-Road”, specializing in modifying and customizing vehicles for the open trails. Now there’s some good conversation over a hot cup ‘o joe.

THE CHALLENGE:
Break the stereotype that all mechanic shops are shady and untrustworthy, by presenting a clean and welcoming aesthetic, with transparency and trust that appeals to young and old audiences, with the additional twist of the Off Road sub-brand; appealing to people hungry for dirt and fresh air on the rugged trails.

THE OUTCOME:
A new brand with a friendly logo, easy-to-navigate website, eye-catching videos and culture photography of the mechanics working. 2-3x growth in business over a few months, with no slowdown during the COVID19 pandemic. The shop is currently so successful they have hired additional staff, renovated their waiting room and have plans on doubling the shop itself, adding 2 more bays. In a 12 month period the shop has seen 3-6x growth from previous years.
